Strong social involvement
Since the creation of the mining companies SOMAÏR and COMINAK 40 years ago, AREVA has implemented an ambitious social policy. Carried out in partnership with local associations and representatives, these programs receive substantial funding (6 million euros a year over the next five years).
In Niger, the group supports programs to aid development as well as cooperative actions in the areas of health, education, training, and access to water and energy for the local population. The group also provides emergency aid to the victims of disasters.
