Following an audit by the certification agency AFNOR between March 9 and 15, COMINAK has obtained Environmental (ISO 14001) and Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001) certification for its integrated management system.

Compliance with these two international standards indicates that the environment and the health and safety of workers are being protected in the company’s mining activities.

The certification process is also an opportunity for COMINAK to increase the efficiency of its organization and to make lasting progress through improvement initiatives aimed at limiting and controlling its environmental impact and preventing work accidents.

This double certification testifies to the management’s commitment and the employees’ involvement in a continuous improvement process aimed at achieving operational excellence that combines productivity with the protection of the environment and the personnel.

Motivated by their belief in these goals, COMINAK and SOMAIR, the AREVA group’s two mining companies in Niger, have obtained both ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 certification.
