50 years, AREVA has constructed an enduring partnership with the country. Four companies are currently exploiting Niger’s uranium resources. The group is the operator of these companies and their principal shareholder.

Responsible uranium extraction in Niger
AREVA produces 3,000 tons of uranium every year on the Arlit site through the companies COMINAK and SOMAÏR. A look at a desert town where economic activity, revolving round the mines, is accompanied by a concern for the education and health of the population, and environmental protection.
