SOMAÏR: Renewal of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certifications

June 18, 2014

Following the audit carried out from 03 to 11 April 2014 by the certification agency Afnor*, the Société des Mines de l’AIR (SOMAÏR) obtained renewed certifications for its integrated management system in "Environmental Protection" and "Occupational Health and Safety".Somair’s original certification under ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental preservation and sustainable management, was obtained in 2002 and that under OHSAS 18001, the international standard in recognition of a strict and effective management of health and safety at work, was obtained in 2009.

It is the involvement of both staff and management in a drive for excellence and continual operational improvement in terms of employee health and environmental protection that has led to the maintenance of this dual certification.
For Jean Luc Andrieux, General Manager of Somair, "It is an excellent result that confirms the commitment of our teams to raise the company to a high level of international recognition. Congratulations to all."
